Experience

Sheila Kraemer has been a full-time, professional REALTOR since 1979. With experience as a Certified Relocation Specialist and Certified Relocation Director, Sheila is especially qualified to help you with your relocation needs, whether across the street or around the world.

A fully licensed Real Estate Broker and Managing Broker, Sheila has been the owner of her own firm since 1997.  She specializes in the sales and marketing of homes in the entire Quad City area, both Illinois and Iowa, including the cities of Rock Island, Moline, East Moline, Silvis, Colona, Hampton, Rapids City, Port Byron, Cordova, Geneseo, Coal Valley, Milan, Orion, Sherrard, Andalusia, Taylor Ridge, in Illinois. In Iowa Sheila is well acquainted with Davenport, Bettendorf, Pleasant Valley, LeClaire, Eldridge, Park View, Blue Grass, and Long Grove.

Professional Designations

Sheila holds one of the real estate industry's most prestigious professional designations: GRI. This nationally recognized designation indicates that Sheila is a Graduate of the Realtor Institute. She also holds the ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative) and AHWD (At Home With Diversity) designations, awarded through the National Association of Realtors.    She held the CRP (Certified Relocation Professional) designation awarded through the Employee Relocation Council for more than twenty years, and was the first Realtor in the Quad City area to receive it.  She also holds the AHS designation, (Accredited Home Staging) and uses what she has learned to help your listings show at their best. 

Honors

Consistently outstanding in her field, Sheila has earned numerous production awards over her career for her top sales and listing efforts. She holds the Lifetime Bronze Award for consistently selling over a million dollars in real estate. In addition, Sheila was voted Realtor Associate of the Year by the Rock Island County Board of Realtors for her professionalism and service to her clients, in 1984. More recently, Sheila was honored as the Quad City Area Realtor Association 2008 Illinois member Realtor of the Year, for her professionalism and service during thirty years as a Quad City area realtor.

Personal Information

Sheila was born in New York City and raised in New Jersey. She has been a resident of the Quad City area since 1978. Sheila graduated from Massachusetts State College at Fitchburg with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She also holds two Certificates in Interior Decorating from LaSalle University in Chicago, one for home decorating and the other for commercial design.

Sheila is a relocation specialist through both professional and personal experience. Having been married to a career soldier, Sheila traveled extensively over a 20-year period. She has lived in Germany three times and has spent much time in Western Europe. All tolled, Sheila has moved 17 times. Her experience in this area is vital in helping her relocation clients have a smooth and less stressful move, whether they are moving locally, or anywhere in the world!

Before entering real estate, Sheila was a teacher. Although she moved too often to have a permanent full time job, she spent 11 years as a professional substitute in all grades. She has also taught many adult classes including the teaching of German to Americans and the teaching of English to German nationals, as well as English as Second Language in the United States. Still a teacher at heart, as a Realtor Sheila has taught real estate to her peers as well as classes in buying and selling to consumers.

The mother of 4 grown sons, and the grandmother of nine,. Sheila is very involved in family life throughout the area. She has volunteered as a chaperone in the Miss Mississippi Valley Pageant and is very active in her church. She has worked for the Cancer Jail and Bail, American Heart Association and the MDA Telethon. Sheila is also extensively involved with the Quad City Children's Therapy Center (formerly Easter Seals) as a fund raiser on their telethon. For the past twenty-five years, Sheila has read weekly on APRIS, Augustana Public Radio Information Service - a service which broadcasts the reading of newspapers for the sight impaired on closed circuit radio.

When not serving her clients or her community, Sheila enjoys live theater, fine dining, Bridge, board games, crossword puzzles, reading and creative writing..

Memberships

Sheila is a member of the Quad City Area Realtor Association, a uniquely Bi-State organization which serves both Illinois and Iowa realtors and communities.

She has served extensively on Board committees in Illinois in the past and also in the current association, including the Professional Standards, Education and Grievance committees. She has also been Secretary on the Board of Directors at the former Rock Island County Board of Realtors, and served as President elect and then President of the Illinois members and on the Board of Directors of the Quad City Area Realtor Association in 2007 and 2008. In addition, Sheila is a member of the National Association of REALTORS and Illinois Association of Realtors.. All of these associations uphold a strict code of ethics and ensure that their members are up to date on the latest marketing techniques and legislation affecting real estate.
